Children’s Aquarium at Fair Park

The Children’s Aquarium at Fair park is open from 9:00 am - 4:30 pm seven days a week. Admission is $8 for adults, $6 for children and seniors, ages 2 and under are free. The convenient location also offers several other opportunities to explore the various attractions in the nearby plaza. This aquarium has six different zones, including a Stingray Bay. The Fresh Water Zone has exhibits that feature the ferocious Red Bellied piranha and the Electric Eel. At the Intertidal Zone there are beautiful creatures such as the Upside Down Jellyfish and the Starfish. The Shore Zone offers a glimpse into the mysterious world of the Hermit Crab and Spiny Lobster. The mesmerizing Giant Pacific Octopus and the Hawksbill Sea turtle can both be found in the Near Shore zone, while the Off Shore Zone contains the deadly Lionfish and the graceful Nautilus. Stingray bay offers the chance to feed and touch different types of Stingrays, with an informative guide there to answer all of your questions. There is a daily feeding schedule offered, that rotates occasionally, so that visitors have the opportunity watch a shark or a piranha devour their meal. This location is stroller and wagon friendly, and visitors can bring their own lunch and snacks. This Aquarium also offers a special overnight program, this includes an overnight stay within the aquarium confines, a continental breakfast and a special fish keeper talk in the morning.
